All About Creative Stocks and How They Can Be Used
Picking the right stock not only means that you have to think about how your product is going to be used, but also how it is going to improve your design.
Also, you need to take into consideration your artwork when choosing the paper stock you need.
So to help you get the perfect print product, we have listed below a handy guide that will explain about all of our non-standard creative stocks for you!
Kraft is probably the most distinctive stock, it is a brown recycled card stock. You will probably see the lighter paper version in every day life, it can be seen in brown wrapping paper and brown paper bags. Kraft card is 280gsm so is much firmer than its paper cousin and is a popular card stock to use when you are looking for a different type of greetings or business cards.
As you can see in the image above, Kraft is nothing like the standard white card, so it will have an on the colours in your artwork. Please also note that due to the nature of Kraft card you will find that one side will be a lighter shade than the other side.
We find using colours that are contrastive will work best in your designs when using Kraft. Most people create their artwork/designs using just black ink, this is because black stands out very well against the brown colour of Kraft.
Using colours works well too, they are a really great way to to give Kraft a modern look to a vintage stock. If you choose colour, we advise that you use a vibrant block of colour and to also keep the palette to minimum.
